Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Ends Independent Presidential Run, Backs Donald Trump

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has decided to stop his independent campaign for the U.S. presidency and is now supporting Donald Trump. This change in the race might help Trump gain some extra support from Kennedy’s followers.

Later, Kennedy appeared with Trump at a rally in Arizona, where the crowd cheered for Kennedy.

Kennedy mentioned that his own polls showed that if he stayed in the race, it would harm Trump and help Kamala Harris, the Democratic candidate. However, public polls don’t clearly show that Kennedy was strongly affecting the support for either main candidate.

Kennedy said he was leaving the race because of issues like free speech, the war in Ukraine, and what he called “a war on our children.” These were the reasons he had left the Democratic Party to run as an independent, and now, why he supports Trump.

However, Kennedy clarified that he isn’t fully ending his campaign. He said his supporters can still vote for him in many states where their votes are unlikely to change the outcome of the election. Kennedy began the process of removing his candidacy in Arizona and Pennsylvania, but election officials in other key states like Michigan, Nevada, and Wisconsin said it’s too late for him to take his name off the ballot.
